Finding Balance: College Mindfulness Session Promotes Mental Health and Well-Being

"Stress is not what happens to us. It's our response to what happens. And response is something we can choose." – Maureen Killoran On 18th May 2024, Dr. Mohit Gupta, Director and Professor of Cardiology at GB Pant Hospital, was the esteemed speaker at a session on leading a stress-free life, organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) of HBTU, under the leadership of Aryan Tiwari. In his insightful talk, Dr. Gupta explored how stress affects both mental and physical health, with a particular focus on its impact on heart health.

He emphasized the importance of managing stress as a crucial step towards improving overall well-being. Dr. Gupta shared practical stress-management techniques, including mindfulness, relaxation exercises, and lifestyle modifications that can reduce stress and promote emotional balance. He explained how these strategies not only improve mental clarity but also protect heart health and contribute to a healthier, longer life. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, allowing attendees to ask Dr. Gupta personalized questions and gain expert advice.

The event, organized by NSS HBTU under the leadership of Aryan Tiwari, was a great opportunity for students and faculty alike to learn how to better manage stress and lead a more balanced, fulfilling life. Attendees left the session with valuable tools and knowledge to take control of their health and well-being.
